Seamless Transitions: Redefining Open Living with Invisible Functionality
The primary challenge of this project was to balance the immediate needs of the child with the necessity of reserving independent space for their future growth within the existing three-bedroom layout. By removing the partition wall between the living room and a bedroom, the designer extended the distance between the sofa and the television, significantly enhancing the sense of openness.
A folding sliding door was integrated to address the future requirement for a private room as the child grows. When retracted, the study and living room merge into a unified space; when extended, it transforms into a private, independent room, seamlessly accommodating the evolving needs of the family.
